THE MODEL
The 1999 BMW Z3 Coupe, often called the "Clown Shoe," is a driver-focused, performance-oriented evolution of the Z3 roadster. Powered by BMW’s M52TÜ 2.8L inline-six (later upgraded to the M54 in 2000), it delivers 190 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual or automatic transmission. With a near 50/50 weight distribution, a rigid hatchback chassis, and classic BMW handling dynamics, the Z3 Coupe is a cult favorite among enthusiasts. Its distinctive shooting-brake design, limited production numbers, and visceral driving experience make it a unique and desirable modern classic.
THE CAR
This is a truly amazing time piece. A one-owner Northern California car that belies the 154k miles it's been driven. The original paint is in amazing shape, the black leather interior is great shape! A recent $5200 service included a rebuild of the dual Vanos system, a rebuild of the transmission and a new clutch.
The owner took great pride in this car and it shows. We have all invoices from new as well as the window sticker. This will be a great purchase for someone who wants to have a ton of fun.
